Its sad that actions committed by horrible people have to define the background of an individual. I try hard not to rely on my ethnic background instead trying to define myself as a person. I'm incredibly closed off from the 1 billion people because my family has always preached for an ideal environment where a level of respect should be shown to everyone, no matter their gender. I guess that closed off environment made me unaware of the actions committed by some of these people. This is really screwed up.
