the statement by the DOJ is so narrow it doesn't actually refute or mean anything unless you want to take everything Trump said literally. Of course we already had Comey refute it as well, but again just in the exact same narrow terms. The lawyer speak done by the government is just as bad or worse than the loose language that Trump uses. At least Trump you can kind of understand what he meant since he is so much more open when he speaks than the government.
