Haven't used it in a while, but I remember thinking it was a cool feature. I think I used it for a code in Zelda: Oracle of Ages, and that maid mini-game in Tales of the Abyss.
Nowadays I just take a picture on my phone if I need to remember something...usually it's all I need it for.
