If it does not make a greater dent on overall sales or sell a whole **** load in Japan with Square-Enix's help now, you can officially say the 360 will no longer get exclusive JRPG's. Nor will Japan ever embrace the console. We all know Microsoft is filling them up with bags of money to buy out exclusives, and not even Nintendo or Sony has enough money to buy them out. This is probably why they bit the hand of the rich mogul because they need money now and sacrificing fans for money bribes was the only way to do it. This also tests the fanbase of the Americans and their love or hate for JRPG's. being that Star Ocean was a PS game, SO4 jumping to the 360 may confuse american gamers since many of them may have never played a SO game before.

But this is officially Microsoft's last chance to start proving to japanese devs that they can do better than the PS3 in Japan and if this doesn't do it, they better stop dropping more money for a wasted effort.

Not nessicarily. Rember Microsfot's goal #1 is to steal market share from sony. (gaol number 2 being become #1 overall and make profit) Stealling all those JRPGs might be preventing Sony from dooing better in Japan, and may be helping 360 in EU/USA/Canada/AU, so it might still be worth it. And if the library gets big enough, the japanese might decide to buy the system for the games, even if they dislike the system/brand itself.

I'm sorry but I don't believe microsoft's number 1 goal is to steal market share with their second console , with the XBOX 360 I imagine that their main goal would be to profitable with the XBOX 360 , stealing market share as a main objective is some what stupid .
