Pathologic is a first-person psychological horror-adventure survival RPG sort of thing—it's hard to nail it down, really—that was originally released in 2005 by Russian indie studio Ice-Pick Lodge. It was intensely, impenetrably weird, as Phil noted a few years back when the studio launched a Kickstarter campaign for a remake, an effort that proved hugely successful. But then the studio opted to update and re-release the original game as Pathologic Classic HD, while still remaking the original.

 

Wild West Online alpha testing will begin in September

Wild West Online, the open-world PvP MMO that we all briefly thought was Red Dead Redemption 2, will hold its first alpha test on September 15, developer 612 Games announced today, with access granted to everyone who owns either the Pioneer or Collector's edition of the game.

 

The steampunk dungeon crawler Vaporum will be out in September

Vaporum is an old-school, grid-based dungeon crawler that trades the fantasy RPG trappings usually seen in such games for a full-on steampunk setting. It appeared on Steam Greenlight earlier this year, managing to make the cut before Greenlight was shut down, and now developer Fatbot Games has announced that, aside from a bit of balancing and bug fixing, the game is complete and will be out the door on September 28.

 

Divinity: Original Sin 2 video reveals playable undead and a 'big-ass' Collector's Edition

Earlier this week, Larian Studios released a lovely new trailer for Divinity: Original Sin 2 that, among other things, suggested that the game's final playable race would be the Undead. In a developer update video released today, the studio made it official, revealing the Undead race, a new origin character named Fane, and the very impressive-looking Collector's Edition box.

 

Battlefield 1: In the Name of the Tsar release date confirmed

Battlefield 1's second major expansion, In the Name of the Tsar, promises six new maps, the Russian army, and the Women's Battalion of Death. As such it's billed as the "most extensive Battlefield expansion yet", and now has a launch date: September 19.

 

Phantom Halls, the Worms-meets-Spelunky squad shooter, unveils free Evil Dead 2 update

When Incendium's papercraft squad shooter Phantom Halls landed on Early Access earlier this year, it announced a tie-in with Sam Raimi's '80s horror parody Evil Dead 2. Now, the so-called "Evil Dead 2 x Phantom Halls" update will take that partnership further still.
