Those people paid with their lives for those "mistakes", meanwhile most of those cops go scott free, because they can just say "well I thought he/she was reaching for XYZ". I think it's fair that people say this isn't good enough. This isn't the level of policing people should expect. Things like routine traffic stops, a dude selling anything on a street corner unarmed shouldn't end up with someone going to a morgue. |
Oh goody...you have resorted to blanket statements now. No one is saying these people should have ended up dead yet you keep bringing it up as if to relegate reality under the bias of people's feelings.
You are associating the proportionately rare accounts of tragic events by police officers and acting like these events are likely to happen whenever police get involved. If this is the expectations of Americans I guess American's need to somehow become more aware of statistical facts as opposed to allowing fear driven feelings be their emotional provocateur.
This isn't the level of policing people should expect? Let me tell you a little thing about expectations. It takes an imagination to envision monsters under the bed. It takes a child's mind to 'expect' the monsters to actually be there. If people are expecting cops to just shoot them then maybe they should grow up.
