New Millennium Falcon is Lego’s biggest set ever

And Luke said it was a piece of junk

Lego has revealed a new Millennium Falcon set for their Ultimate Collector’s Series line. Tipping the scales at 7,541 pieces, it’s Lego’s largest set ever released.

When built, the new set is eight inches high, 33 inches long and 22 inches wide. That’s really big. Don’t believe us? Here’s Lego designer Hans Burkhard Schlömer cradling it in his arms.

Uh, yeah, that’s big.

The new Falcon set is about the same size as the last Ultimate Collector’s Series version, released in 2007. That set was also the largest Lego set released at the time, at 5,195 pieces.

The Falcon will contain minifigures from both the original trilogy and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia and C-3PO will round out the original crew while Rey, Finn, BB-8 and older Han will represent the sequel. It even comes with two adorable porg minifigures, the little critters that will grace the screen in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

In true Ultimate Collector’s Series fashion, the set also comes with a small informational plaque detailing the Millennium Falcon’s in-universe origins and specifications.

The Ultimate Collector’s Series Millennium Falcon will set you back a whopping $799.99 when it’s released on Oct. 1. Beginning tonight at midnight, Lego is releasing a bunch of other sets featuring scenes and characters from Star Wars: The Last Jedi as part of the global merchandising event, Force Friday II.
