Sony wasn't bothered by the lack of games at all. The PS3 launch was delayed because of problems in the manufacturing process. Even the actual launch date of the PS3 in November 2006 wasn't free of these problems; the European launch got delayed until March of the following year while Japan and America only received limited quantities for their respective launch dates.
