I don't know much about this particular case, but the word "bias" is abused, particularly in gaming circles.

Often I see a conflicting or controversial opinion labeled as "biased." That implies something unfair and prejudicial about the opinion. If someone plays two games and prefers one to the other, that doesn't necessarily mean the preference is biased. It's just that: a preference.
