What's to stop people from sharing digital PS4 files long after PSN for the PS4 goes down, in the same way that people share pirated games? What's to stop poeple from getting around any built in EULA features in the future, for either PC or PS4 games released now? So what you're saying is, that historians could easily copy the digital version of a PS4 game from a harddrive. But every PS4 has a digital version on the harddrive. Once the disk is inserted the PS4 works on saving the entire game to the harddrive. |
@Bold Probably no more than half a century ...
As for the pirated copy getting corrupt you don't need to worry about that since propogation of data can go uncontrolled ... (Square Enix had to reverse engineer some of the retail copies of their PS2 games to be able to remaster for the PS4. There's beauty to be had in pirating too I guess if the original source is dead.)
Yes historians could copy the contents of the PS4 game from it's hard drive ... (providing if the hard drive lasts that long and depending on the law of a nation too)
