That's interesting. Pre-order systems that end up around there at their release (I'm thinking of the Destiny bundle in 2014 and the Pro at 45 last year) sold about 250-300k in their launch months. I wonder if that gives us any clue as to how many MS produced for the US. I'd be a bit wary to do that, of course, because of yearly differences, but it wouldn't necessarily surprise me to learn that MS allotted perhaps 500k preorders for the scorpio edition worldwide.

Isnt that like...the opposite of a Limited Edition? LMAO

Great strategy on the marketing department tho.

I mean, I could be wrong, but to be fair, the Destiny limited edition likely sold a lot more than that worldwide when it first released. Of course, those systems also had a lot of in-store stock when they released as well, something that it doesn't seem the scorpio edition will have outside of Best buy and Gamestop, so it's difficult to quantify how much more Amazon might figure into the Scorpio's sales percentage. MS said that the first five days of preorders were better for the Scorpio edition than the Xbox One, but considering I have no idea how well that system sold in Europe (I know the UK did an impressive 150k, though I'm sure France and Germany were less than that, plus it didn't release in the "tier 2" countries), I have no idea what the preorders would have been like in them, and have no idea what the allotment for the Scorpio edition might be to them either.
