I think there's a possibility for an improved revision, with either the current Tegra chip for improved battery life and better docked performance or even the revision after that for improved performance all around and slight gains in battery life.
Either would probably have largely the same formfactor, since (contrary to 3DS/New 3DS) the Switch doesn't have any glaring design omissions and I don't think making it much thinner than it is, would be an option thermal-wise. Also the Joy-Con wouldn't fit anymore and thinner ones would feel very ankward.
An XL variant of the same thickness has a remote chance to be made compatible with pre-existing Docks and Joy-Con at least, but the chances of that are probably pretty slim unless they pull an Ipad 9,7" to Ipad 10,5" like move and keep the size of the actual frame identical.
Lastly I think an enhanced dock or supplemental computing device might be a thing down the line.
