| Soundwave said: I think people on message boards make a bigger fuss out of exclusives. Truth is I don't think much of the PS/XBox buyer base gives that much of a crap, they are buying those systems for the big gun third party IPs -- your CODs, GTAs, Destinys, Maddens, NBA2Ks, Battlefield, Star Wars Battlefront, etc. XBox One X will have all of those on top of being the most powerful system by a good margin, those are more key. The price point being a bit high I'd say is the bigger issue, but looks like early adopters are pre-ordering the thing like crazy. |
And that's where you are wrong. 3rd party games may be bigger sellers but that does not mean that exclusives don't make a difference - they make a huge difference. Let's take The Last Guardian, for example - I am sure a few tens of thousands bought a PS4 just for that game because there is nothing like it anywhere else. Now add that to the hundreds of thousands who bought a PS4 just for Uncharted 4. And for those who will but 1 just for The Last of Us 2. As you combine that library, you'll see that the PS library os the differentiator.
Don't take my word for it - you'll see ot for yourself once the Xbox One X fails to outsell the PS4.
