You guys are all crazy, if they had real damage to the cars all you guys would complain that the game is to hard, and you would all turn it off and cry on the forums, maybe you should try racing in the game without hitting the wall or other cars, if you can come in first place without even goin off the track then maybe you can complain about no damage , but all you others should just shut up, and go play burout.

No.

I love performance driving in real life and I insist on two things when driving a racing game:

Steering wheel

Damage modeling

Anything else and I'll treat as slightly above rubbish. Damage modeling in a game that tries hard to be a simulator is a requirement. I've played with damage modeling on all the racing sims I've played over the years. I'll never settle for anything less. I know that you can wreck your car and render it undrivable - that's part of the challenge. Seeing a 90-degree turn and knowing that by accelerating even faster because you can just bounce off the wall and continue racing and actually save time by doing so is also rubbish. Having other cars slam into you and make you lose positions is unfair, and rubbish, especially when such moves in real life would take both cars out of the race.

I complain about  the lack of damage because I expect this in a racing title, and it has nothing to do with being able to race without hitting walls. It has to do with sense of realism and immersion that the title can create. When nothing happens to my car after plowing it against 13 others in a lap, going on offroad excursions every other turn and slamming the tire barriers every now and then completely ruins the driving experience for me, because I no longer am driving 650bhp superexotics capable of accelerating rom 0-60mph in less than 4 seconds and reaching top speeds in excess of 330kph. I'm driving 650bhp bumper cars capable of accelerating rom 0-60mph in less than 4 seconds and reaching top speeds in excess of 330kph.
