Playing Dark Cloud 2 on PS4 right now. Although I had effectively "platinumed" the first game on PS2, I only ran through the campaign of #2 once and didn't bother with all the extra stuff in it. So...going for the plat on PS4 is an eye-opener. I like the basic idea of photography and invention, but some of the photo ops are blink and you miss it.& others are overly specific (you can't just take a pic of any grass, only grass in a specific location). And then many of the picture combos for inventions make zero sense. The "ride a mech / transform into a monster" aspect is cool, but at least the monster aspect is under developed. I also prefer how weapons leveled in #1.
BUT the game is still really cool and fun, and I like the focus on two characters (rather than a whole party). It has lots of cool ideas that a theoretical #3 should retain, but with refinements.
