I've been on board since the beginning. Was blown away by Destruction Derby

One of my fav games.  I remember seeing it covered in Next Generation magazine and that was around the time I was like I'm going to give up waiting on the N64 and get a Playstation.  I loved my Playstation for the most part but I became butt hurt when my first generation PS1 started overheating/freezing issues a few months after warranty wore off.  Losing a console within first year or so and having to pay 75 for a newer model really left a shit stain in my mouth.  Console reliability turned me off from Sony which PS2 even further proved my point (disk drive had very bad reliability).  I can't talk too much shit about console reliability though because my little over year purchase of a New 3DS XL fucked up with the b button becoming intermittent on working and not working.  Karma is a bitch.

Sorry to be a hater but man did I love Destruction Derby.  I also really loved ESPN Extreme Games which had you doing a Road Rash style racing with skateboards, roller blades, etc..

I also had issues with my launch window PS1, but at least some of that came from lending it out to friends, and them abusing the shit out of it. At least by my standards. Leaving it running constantly. Like, instead of saving, and turning it off, they would leave it running in a HOT, dust filled room while they went out for dinner. Idiots. I gave them shit for that, and of course it stopped working shortly after I got it back. As for DD, yeah. It was such a ridiculous step up from the 16 bit consoles. Not just the graphics, which at the time were amazing, but all the physics as well. The deformation, cars getting crunched, spinning around, and the damage actually effecting the performance. The cars couldn't be tipped over, and although DD2 introduced that element, I didn't like it as much as the original. After my rental experince, it was the first game I bought.
