http://www.pcgamer.com/doom-vfr-qa-explains-how-playing-a-scientist-will-be-just-as-violent-as-doomguy/
Going from the bloodthirsty Doomguy to a scientist in Doom VFR might sound a bit like a downgrade, but as the developers point out in the new Q&A video above, you’ll get to possess heavily-armed robots and teleport, so if anything it might be an upgrade.

http://www.pcgamer.com/call-of-duty-wwiis-social-hub-headquarters-revealed-in-new-trailer/
Game Informer has posted the first trailer, above, that fully explores Call of Duty: WWII's Headquarters mode, the series-first social space for soldiers with a little downtime.

http://www.pcgamer.com/cities-skylines-expansion-will-add-electric-cars-and-eco-friendly-buildings/
The next Cities: Skylines expansion will address pollution problems by letting you go green. Green Cities "adds 350 new assets to the core game, adding a massive selection of new visual options, complete with eco-friendly buildings, organic shops, electric vehicles, and new services designed to make pollution a quaint notion of the past."

>>But they've just launched the last one! Shouldn't they be working on Skylines 2?

The Good Life debut trailer features cats, a killer, and strange English villagers
http://www.pcgamer.com/the-good-life-debut-trailer-features-cats-a-killer-and-strange-english-villagers/
Hidetaka "Swery" Suehiro's new game The Good Life is a mystery-RPG set in a small town in England called Rainy Woods—the "happiest town in the world," so its residents claim. That may have something to do with the fact that they all turn into cats at night. Why does this happen? That's the tricky part.

Hearthstone's first multiplayer raid pits everyone against Super-Arthas
http://www.pcgamer.com/hearthstones-first-multiplayer-raid-pits-everyone-against-super-arthas/
Multiplayer raids are a common feature of MMOs, where players team up to take on a bad guy that they wouldn't have a hope of dealing with on their own. Now Blizzard is bringing that kind of co-op action to the collectible card game Hearthstone in a new Tavern Brawl that kicked off today at Gamescom.

http://www.pcgamer.com/xcom-2-war-of-the-chosen-is-getting-a-challenge-mode-with-global-leaderboards/
XCOM 2's expansion pack, War of the Chosen, is almost here. We've covered at length the new enemies, factions, zombies, and propaganda, but it looks like even more new features are on the way. Today, Firaxis revealed that War of the Chosen will have a challenge mode—a new feature where players can complete unique challenges, earning points and placements on global leaderboards.

Brink, Bethesda's post-apocalyptic FPS, is now free to play on Steam
http://www.pcgamer.com/brink-bethesdas-post-apocalyptic-fps-is-now-free-to-play-on-steam/
Remember Brink? Don't feel too badly if your answer is "no." Developed by Splash Damage and published by Bethesda in 2011, it was intended to blend single and multiplayer combat in a futuristic tale about a battle between the Resistance and Security aboard a crumbling floating city called the Ark. We scored it a very positive 76/100 in our review, but overall it tanked pretty badly and was quickly forgotten.

Gwent single-player campaign coming later this year
http://www.pcgamer.com/gwent-single-player-campaign-coming-later-this-year/
You might expect that the single-player campaign mode for the Witcher-based CCG Gwent would be all about Geralt, the titular Witcher, or at the very least one of his better-known buddies, like maybe Dandelion or Zoltan. But it will in fact tell a tale of Meve, the widowed queen of Lyria and Rivia, who sets out on "a dark journey of destruction and revenge" when people start messing with her stuff.

Quake Champions hits Steam Early Access, but it's not free yet
http://www.pcgamer.com/quake-champions-hits-steam-early-access-but-its-not-free-yet/
Right on schedule, Bethesda's arena FPS Quake Champions is now available to anyone and everyone on Steam Early Access. It will be a free-to-play game when it goes into full release, but for now if you want to play you'll have to pay: Access is restricted to people who purchase the $30/£20/€30 Champions Pack.

Ubisoft has released a new trailer for the air/land/sea open-world racing game The Crew 2 that shows off the new "Fast Fav" feature and reveals that it will be released on March 16, 2018. It also dropped the details on the game's preorder bonus and special editions, which offer access to extra vehicles, the season pass, and a three-day head-start on the action.

Overwatch Season 6 changes outlined in new Blizzard video update
http://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-season-6-changes-outlined-in-new-blizzard-video/
Overwatch's sixth competitive season will take place across two months rather than three, Jeff Kaplan has announced via a new dev update. The reason for the change is simple: player engagement tended to dwindle towards the end of the three month competitive season, as the earlier period was believed to be more consequential and fun. This pattern was detected, so says Kaplan, through both player feedback and internal stats.

Rainbow Six Siege will be free to play this weekend
http://www.pcgamer.com/rainbow-six-siege-will-be-free-to-play-this-weekend/
If for some (most likely not very good) reason you haven't played Rainbow Six Siege yet, then you really ought to. And that'll be easy to do this weekend, because the game will be free – both on Steam and directly through Uplay.

http://www.pcgamer.com/dontnod-are-developing-a-new-narrative-adventure-game/
Bandai Namco and Dontnod have teamed up to create a new narrative adventure game. Details are slim, and even the name is being kept under wraps, but the Life is Strange developer has been working on the game since 2016.

Get a glimpse of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' desert map
http://www.pcgamer.com/get-a-glimpse-of-playerunknowns-battlegrounds-desert-map/
Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene revealed a glimpse of Battlegrounds' upcoming desert map during his Gamescom keynote today, specifically a sand-covered city. Not the sort of place you’d want to take a holiday, but I hear that it’s rich in chicken.

Meet Middle-earth: Shadow of War's hardworking Machine Tribe
http://www.pcgamer.com/meet-middle-earth-shadow-of-wars-hardworking-machine-tribe/
It’s very convenient that the naming conventions of Middle-earth: Shadow of War’s Orc tribes skew a little towards the literal. What’s in a name? Absolutely everything. So it should be pretty obvious how members of the Machine Tribe like to spend their time.
