You'd appreciate the GOT tv show more if you hung out at the Game Of Thrones subreddit, they point out a lot of interesting things (things you have clearly missed). It has made this season a lot more enjoyable. Sure the pacing is bad, but a lot of the flaws you are pointing out have been debunked (the NK was waiting for the dragons, arya is playing LF, the whole episode spanned around a week etc.). Unlike season 5 which was just bad all around (except hardhome). Seriously, every week I see you post horrible reviews about GOT, and often it's because you miss certain details. I'm not saying this season is great, but it's easily better than 2/10. Anyways, that's my advice, take it or leave it. |
I handed out 9s and 10s every week for years on the show excusing various small issues being an adaptation. It was my favorite show of all time. I am very disappointed by how the writing has declined so severely. I care, this is my favorite book series and I was on ASoIaF message boards years before HBO was in the picture.
I cannot divorce myself of how it pales in comparison and is so sloppy. I have no desire to damage your interest, but I wont fake that I've enjoyed much of anything these past few years. I care about who rules the Riverlands, the Reach, the Stormlands, and Dorne. I'm sure others don't, but to me it goes against the heart of Martin's vision and world I fell in love with 15 years ago.
