I loathe the Xbox and Microsoft's decision to enter the industry as I feel it has changed the industry for the worse to a great degree. If it wasn't for them operating the Xbox division at a seemingly permanent loss and funding the it with money from elsewhere in the larger business the Xbox would be a non issue today. I hate the way Microsoft has gone about it's business in the industry, it buys great talent and brands and let's them die slow painful deaths quite often, and has even managed to lose it's lead studios in the last few years. The Xbox itself is held afloat each generation it's been present purely off the back of the Anglosphere as well, essentially USA, UK and to a lesser extent AUS, NWZ and CAN.

I think Nintendo's hardware decisions since the Gamecube-GameboyAdvance have ranged from okay to bizarre and their developers would create better gaming experiences on Sony's hardware at every point. Even though I have loved and always played Pokemon normally, despite my reservations about Nintendo's hardware, I decided in the wake of what I believe to be another vastly inferior device (the Vita is hands down a better piece of kit than the 3DS) to forgo playing new Pokemon games from now on. I dream of a day when Nintendo pack in hardware and move their games development to Sony purely for better experiences on more capable devices.

As much as I love Sony and hold the Playstation brand in the highest regard possible in this industry they are far from perfect. I think the manner in which they went about the Playstation 3 was shocking and they are lucky that people like myself exist and the brand is as strong as it is that they were able to shift 10 mil in year 1. They have had the best handhelds for a while and actively going about sowing the seeds of their death within 2 years of releasing them by dropping first party support. I think Sony has the better console brand and naming scheme, Playsation, Playstation 2, Playstation 3 etc, it allows ease of understanding for casual consumer, where as their rivals have adopted bizarre approaches in this regard. I think Sony is right to be denying cross platform play with the Xbox brand as much as they can, and indeed this is a PR stunt by Microsoft to try and make Sony look bad. I've long held the belief that Sony has better games for their systems than Nintendo but accept this is probably because I was not brought up with the NES and SNES and have little nostalgia for Nintendo's IPs. I think Sony are bloody fools for letting go of so many of the their great first parties as well, especially Studio London/Evolution studios.

I hate the casual consumer. I understand completely their importance, there is far more of them than there are of people like us who read up on the industry and they are the ones with the buying power as consequence, however that doesn't make me hate them less. They are easily swayed by marketing and are the kind of people who think the WiiU is an add on for the Wii and will be stuck in a store questioning a member of staff about this for half an hour.

I don't like PC gaming, the whole idea of using a mouse and keyboard is not how I was introduced to and have played games throughout my life. Whenever I'm involved in a discussion about PCvsConsole it often comes down to Mods, better graphics and the ability to pirate or otherwise circumvent the cost of gaming that put PC ahead for whoever is arguing for it and none of it appeals to me, I've never actually pirated a game and nor do I intend to.

The Last of US is certainly one of the best games of all time for me despite the growing trend of people deciding against that declaration, purely because it felt like at the end of it having sat through an experience that if it were a film would be a billion dollar grosser and winner of 12/13 Academy Awards.

DmC from Ninja Theory is a good game and solid reimagining of the series.
Final Fantasy XII is the best Final Fantasy game ever made outside of XV which I have yet to play personally, and XIII is the worst because in the wake of the criticisms XII received post launch from older fans it's like Square took the worst of XII and the previous instalments and formed XIII out of that sludge, again outside of XV for the same reason previously stated.
I think Dead Island is actually a great game and wasn't let down by the finished product like some were after that admittedly stunning trailer.
Tekken > Street Fighter
James Bond Nightfire is the best James Bond game.
Killzone is my favourite FPS series and I think Killzone 2 might very well be the best FPS ever made.
JRPG > WRPG
Spyro > Crash
I thought Resistance Fall of Man was one of the strongest launch exclusives ever released.
I actually prefer Gen V of Pokemon to Gen I

Goddamn, I agree with so many of this. Not all but many of them. I like The Last of Us analogy. It's like The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King of video games.
