It is totally ridiculous to compare these two games, in regards of critics and sales performance.
It would be like comparing Uncharted 4 with Halo Wars 2 or something... just does'nt make sense.
But for the sake of an argument.
Knack 1 was a launch title as I recall, so fairly many bought the game, as there was not that many other games to buy at that time, yet alone exclusives. And people bought into the idea of a new character, in a gamne that happened to be developed from the guy who created the PS4 in most part.
Knack 2 will certainly sell a lot, since it is a sequel to a game that sold 2+million. And it sounds like it will be a improved game experience over the first one. And now the PS4 has a greater install base, so potentially more games will be sold this time around.
Odyssey will probably be a game of the year contender (and knack 2 will not, right?!), if previous mario games are an indicator. Also from a critics perspective. The game will presumably sell millions before we hit 2018. It will perhaps sell 1:1 to the console install base, just like Breath of the wild did.
Knack 2 is no match for odyssey I predict. That is a no brainer.
