It's a tie if you ignore context - Sony winning 3 of the last 4 generations and not by a small margin) is also a fact.
And handhelds have always been secondary - you yourself aren't taking handhelds in consideration when saying Sony won 3 generations. And the numbers do back the fact that dedicated handheld devices are dropping in favour.
Nintendo has been dominant until Sony came in the market - your line about feelings and history applies to you here as well.
