Mega Man 2 is far from being the best classic Mega Man game, it's close to the bottom. The entire game suffers from inconsistency, some levels are good while others are some of the worst in the series. The weapons range from overpowered to the point that they break the game to weapons that are so bad that it would make Mega Man 5 blush. The bosses aren't great either, some are far too simple while others are broken such as the Wily Machine and Quick Man.
It's good game in it's own right but all the praise it receives in comparison to the rest of the series is perplexing.
