P.S. I think our discussion just shows that MS has some serious problems right now with their strategy. They seem to please both console and PC gamers but both sides aren't satisfied with what they are doing for them. |
The thuing is, if they release on their own Win 10 store only, they'll earn less money, but releasing on both Steam on Win 10 store will earn them a decent amount (Paying Valve the 30% isn't the end of the world and it's better than making far less buck from the tiny suer abse on win 10 store anyway).
That's the thing though, MS want to develop for both platforms using the same studios. They don't really see it being resource friendly to simply use completely unique studios for every single game for the two platforms. They used to back in the day but with their whole "xbox family" approach, they've decided to slim down on how their games are made and made for.
I want an AoE that isn't bogged down in any way shape or form, however there are a few users on here that (For some reason it's only recently become a thing) that want it done for Xbox as well, meaning the PC version would have to be compromised in some way (RA3 totally works on PC as it does on console, but it had some sacrifices made to accommodate the console version), so we've basically reached a point where one crowd cannot have what they've spent years pining for, while the other wants what the other side has wanted for years and doesn't understand how the game could be compromised to suit the two platforms.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
