Yeah, I guess that's how Konami felt about Metal Gear...only to my understanding Metal Gear was profitable. I guess I can understand why Sega wouldn't want to tocuh it as Suzuki would have probably went way over budget. And I think Yokoi left Nintendo on his own will. The Virtual Boy was a disaster but after the success that was the Gameboy, I think Nintendo's higher ups, yamauchi, etc. wouldn't have gotten rid of him that fast. But I digress, I just hope they improve the animations before launch.

Gunpei was shamed and basically put in a corner with nothing to do. Japan does that. They shame employees into a corner. He didn't have much choice but to quit.

That's terrible. He built Nintendo's handheld business once and over again. What a terrible way to treat employees who even make successful products. I wonder why they didn't treat Miyamoto terribly when Nintendo's software started to slip saleswise.
