Play the game how I want the first time. I don't make any exceptions for trophies unless I find it fun. Which is the reason why I only have 2 platinums so far.
Most RPGs favor a certain style or some have a meta where a build is optimal. However I don't care and always try to go 2h weapon pure strength and very little defenses. I never change my style until 2nd playthrough. This often leads to situations where I can die instantly, but still loads of fun. Also for random battles I usually don't skip them so like in FFX I fought every single one that was around my level which was the entire game until airship.
