I'm curious to see how the next i5 (hexcore) performs - the 8600/k. If priced right, it could be the best mainstream CPU Intel has made in the last decade.

You're forgetting business, that thanks to those iGPs can buy cheaper PCs without graphics cards, and people that don't game on their PCs and don't need a proper/powerful GPU.

Gamers aren't the only ones that buy PCs.
