CAPCOM was trapped between a rock and a hard spot. On one end they could (and should have) racially insensitive sexist pricks but that would mean continued negative publicity or they could change it and possibly take heat a design was changed because racially insensitive sexist pricks. Of course to quell both sides they pretend it was going to change anyway.

Now, can I ask you something? How many people referenced her race when criticizing her original design?
