Depends, if it's a large ass file like GTA, Witcher 3 or Ark, then yeah I'll keep those backed up as I don't want to spend hours downloading them again. I do this with mods for Fallout, Skyrim, Witcher etc, that use Nexus mod manager. Some mods end up being removed or unsupported, so I definitely save those on another drive.
I don't really see Valve pulling an Activision and getting away with it. EA and Ubisoft I can see doing it, as it's their own games on their own store and they have their fingers in multiple markets.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
