I know, it was a joke. I don't believe in "degradation of society". I believe that today's society is in no way better or worse than 200 or 500 years ago. We just have more wealth, advanced technology and better controls.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
