Texas is an amazing state. I've been there once and loved it, even though it was winter.
Besides, the article errs in that hispanics, whites, asians and blacks, all of them, are more conservative than average in Texas. Even California or Hawaii would have been Trump states if the four ethnic groups voted there as they usually vote in Texas.

Based on ongoing trends, I expect Texas to become the future California, in the sense it will be the most populous state and the center of economic innovation.
