LOL did you not just listen to what i said? He asked how could 3ds possibly be still selling. I gave him expamples of how it could still sell. I never said that's where all it's sales or even most of its sales come from. You are trying to assume i meant that so just stop because you're wasting your time taking my post for something it was never meant to be.

Now that i've told you for the second time what it meant, hopefully you now agree that i'm right and that sales do come from the reason i highlighted, which is kids now old enough to get a console that weren't years ago can get one. Another reason is people's older 3ds's breaking and buying a replacement which is cheap to do nowadays. Another reason is people just wanting to upgrade an old model to a newer one. That's 3 possibilities i provided him with. If you can think of others feel free to reply to him and contribute but don't bother trying to discredit my post because it only contains facts.

And now that i've thought about it again, i can add two another reasons. The entry price to the console is much cheaper meaning it could be affordable or just seen as value for money for consumers that seen it as too pricey in the past. Secondly thwe library is now much bigger then years gone by. So consumers might want to buy it for multiple games wheras in the past there might not have been enough titles on the platform to get them to make the purchase. Again loads of reasons and i just prov9ided him with a few. As i said stop trying to discredit my answer when it only contains facts.

Again, all stuff sells, even Vita. But the levels are relevant. The high 3DS levels can't be explained with kids getting older, as I explained. If that would be the case, the sales would be a fifth and not mention-worthy. Also breaking 3DS is funny, as the device is very sturdy. No, this explanation is ridiculous. Think about it this way: if someone asks why PS4 sells still that well I answer: kids become teens and get one and old PS4 are breaking and have to be replaced. Does it happen? Sure. Does it explain the levels of sales? Nope.

Price and library is a much better explanation, but it doesn't help other old consoles that much. Wii for instance died off quick despite low price and big library.

He asked how could it possibly be still selling and I gave him examples.  You took great offence to that for some reason. When my sisters were younger 3 of them had DS'S. Over the life of the console they had about 10 of them bought because they kept breaking them or because they wanted an upgrade.  It's quite common in Japan for a single consumer to have bought multiples over the whole generation. These are all legit reasons why it sells.  If you want to add other reasons do but I don't really care because all I was doing was telling him some possibilities.  So go back and tell him if you want.
