How's Russia any different in that regard? Just look at Georgia, Ukraine and Chechnya.

No, if North Korea launches a missle at Guam then China will join in against them in order to ensure the safty of its own people. The US has troops and military bases in damn near every country. Russia wants to reclaim what is says is already theirs.
