I don't know why I should care about who is placing second. Let's face it: This Generation is ruled by Nintendo. The Wii outsells the PS3 and the 360. And the PSP has never been a real competition for the Nintendo DS.
I couldn't care less if Sony or MS sells one or maybe 2 Million consoles more or less than the other one. Both of them are getting pwned by Big N.
But I think Microsoft is doing pretty good for its second console ever. They just can't sell in Japan. Playstation sells in Europe just because of its brand. The Marketing of Sony is crazy over here. E.g. the PS2/PS3 is the major sponsor for the Football Campions League for 5 years in a row right now. The Marketing from Microsoft is limited to some Clips on TV.
But as I said, this generation is all about Nintendo.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
