It probably has far more to do with the fact that Nintendo is home to Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, and Story of Seasons and thus already has a strong attraction for the demographics that this game is targetting.

Yeah I agree, especially given the Xbox1 is behind the PS4. They must just think that the Switch is the right platform for it.
