Comic Crusaders - 10/10
All fans of Robotech owe this creative team a debt of gratitude. We're given an opportunity to remember how the series made us feel when we were first introduced to it, but they've also found a way to keep it fresh. As the story continues to develop in future issues, they promise it will have some new twists and turns. I'm excited to watch this unfold. Welcome back old friend, I've missed you so.

Critical Blast - 10/10
If you are a fan of ROBOTECH, or a fan of science-fiction, this comic book is a fantastic read. With promises of a "deeper layer of twists for old-school protoculture addicts" it's sure to bring back memories, while making new ones.

Comic Bastards - 10/10
If you're a fan of the original, you'll love this; if you've never seen the anime and want to know what all the fuss is about, this is a great place to start; if you're a kid, this series will blow your mind; if you're a grown-up, ditto. I can't wait for issue #2 and kudos to Titan comics for rebooting this classic.

That's Not Current - 10/10
Overall, this fresh attempt at rebooting Robotech is a stylish endeavour that aims at modernising an animated classic. Fans of Robotech and Macross alike may be torn when it comes to some of the changes to the aesthetic, but at its heart, it's the classic story that we all know and love. It'll be interesting to see where the series is going to head, especially with changes to the plot. Regardless, it's great to see that Titan comics managed to get the licence from Harmony Gold, in order to give more Robotech to new readers and enthusiasts alike.

SnapPow.com - 9/10
Robotech #1 is exactly what I wanted it to be and so much more. With a high caliber creative team and a clear love for the original series, this is one title from Titan that more than earns a spot on your pull-list. So when you shop on Wednesday do the right thing and give into your 80s nostalgia because this is one issue you'll be happy to add to your collection.

Comicsverse - 8.8/10
Readapting THE MACROSS SAGA for new readers, ROBOTECH #1 takes on the source material in brilliant ways. With a potent plot and highly detailed art, this issue's only failing is in its development of its supporting cast. If you are a fan of giant robot fights, this comic is definitely for you.

********************

Ahh man one of my favorite franchise is getting a reimagining in the comics. I own it myself and I can't wait for the next issue. What I like is that it stays true to the original but with tiny differences here and there.
