Totally right there with you on all of those thoughts. The more support and lower introduction price will certainly help.

I almost feel as though Sony didn't plan for VR, the whole Camera/Move controller situation was just there and they rolled with it instead of developing more gear to go with the VR headset. How VR does for them this round will determine if they actually build in support for it in the next Playstation. It's possible that the VR movement could stop as quickly as the motion controller movement did (not likely in my eyes, but possible). It's just a game of wait and see at this point.

I don't know if they had plans for VR from the start. The original goal of the ps4 was to come out at the same time as XBox One at hopefully a lower price. Anything else was secondary after last gen. For next gen Sony is in a pretty comfortable position to put a little extra in the ps5 for VR as long as they don't get ps3 like ideas again.

They also expected that PSVR wouldn't sell much initially, certainly not enough to subsidize a new tracking solution. Repurposing move and it's camera tracking for the headset was the only way to keep the costs down. Plus it had to work on the base ps4 that was in people's homes already. Anyway it seems Sony is satisfied with how it sells so I'm hoping they have already started working on a gen 2 version with a new tracking solution.

I hope it doesn't stop like motion controller support. For now I'm enjoying it as much as I can. I just checked my psn profile, I have already bought and played 37 different games (not including experiences and demos) for PSVR ranging from $5 to $60. Most are on the cheaper end and not that long, hence so many. And I have plenty more on my radar I want to play. Gaming is as exciting to me again as it was in the 90's. Currently messing around with Moonshot Galaxy and Fantastic contraption.
