Let's look at Nintendo's native Japan. WiiU's sold in Japan: 3.32 million. Nintendo's biggest flop since the virtualboy, too. And worldwide?, hmm, let's see. 65 million 3ds and 14 million wiiu is a hell of a lot more hardware units than 30 million xbox ones. Or perhaps you mean Nintendo could do with some help in the mobile market too, despite the release of the wildly popular pokemon Go and Mario Run.. what could Microsoft offer them here? Oh right, their 0.3% (4Q2016, a drop of 0.8% from 4Q2015) market share of mobile devices for windows phones.. I can see Nintendo salivating at the thought already..... Who needs to learn a thing or two again? The only thing Microsoft are good at is taking money from their OS sales and burning it. |
Let's look at Microsoft's natve North America and Europe.
North America
WiiU: 6.23 million
Xbox One: 18.50 million (and still selling)
Europe
WiiU: 3.52 million
Xbox One: 8.06 million (and still selling)
We were comparing the sales of home consoles more specifically WiiU vs Xbox One since they are direct competitors of the same console generation and the 3DS directly competes with the Vita but if you want to include the 3DS and Nintendo mobile games against solely the Xbone then i might have to include all the 12 editions sales of Windows 10, Windows Phone and Windows whatever but i'm too lazy to research all of the sales data just to prove to you that MS crushes Nintendo in sales department.
