Problem for you, is that right now that is not the case . Its still a vocal minority who are taking issue with Sonys stance. Its still only 2 games that are part of the issue, and not even implemented yet. Sony still has marketting deals for the biggest games of the holiday season. They still have a maybe 30 million hardware lead on their direct competitor. They are still dominating most regions whereas MS isnt (and in some cases, MS is not even competing).

When something changes, then I am sure Sony will make the change. And then we can all cross play with everyone happily.

I personally don't care if Sony doesn't allow cross-platform play. I loose nothing out of it, I am primarily a PC gamer, the platform that is larger than the Xbox One and Playstation 4 combined.
I am more concerned for Playstation games, crossplatform gaming with other platforms does mean that population levels will remain higher over the long term, meaning that a games multiplayer mode will be playable for longer.

And in the grand scheme of things, I don't think market dominance should be an excuse for denying crossplatform games anyway.
