To me, not really. I mean even with a 4K TV, I see little point in buying a new console that plays the same games as the previous one. Seems like a waste of money, especially when the PS5 drops

But what is the point in getting an expensive 4K TV if you don't value content in higher resolution than 1080p?

My TV is actually a cheap off-brand one that I bought to supplement my monitor for PC games. It was less than most 1080p televisions and in fact less than the price of a PS4 Pro. You can tell all of its costs of production were used to make the screen look beautiful. The sound is crappy, and the customization/software support is pretty bad. But I already have external speakers and don't care too much about adjusting the settings through the television. No HDR though, as far as I can tell, but the image and colors still look great.

I mostly got it so that I could play games from a distance as my monitor is only 24 inch and the tv is 40. The 4k version was only $50 more than the 1080p one, so I thought, why not?
