Sony should just get on with it and allow it. Stop with the silly politics as it only harms Gamers.

So maybe Microsoft should allow Sony to handle the online crossplay side and have Nintendo and Xbox users to sign up for PSN.

Sure. I would be all for that. If you were trying to goade me into a negative reaction, you failed though. I am a PC gamer. ;)

Like any company, Sony thinks about their business first. Honestly it is this simple: allowing cross platform play means that X1 users get access to a larger user pool.

I don't care about Sony's business. I don't care about Microsoft's business. I am a consumer, neither are actually my problem.

Once you give cross platform play, there is no reason to have to buy a PS4 unless you want the exclusives.

False. And a bad example if Minecraft is your basis.

The Playstation 4 will have the worst version of the game.
In-case you aren't aware... Minecraft is one of the biggest franchises in video gaming history, ever. Not having it up to parity with the PC, Xbox One, Switch, Mobile and so on, places the Playstation 4 at a distinct disadvantage... And if that is the case, I hope Sony looses a few sales from it.

Reality is that most ppl just want to play the big 3rd party games which are multiplatform. So, how does this benefit Sony from a business perspective? It doesnt. It makes the X1 a more viable console and the PS4 less so. Right now, the PS4 is far more lucrative a purchase by the sheer fact that it has more ppl and possibly higher numbers for MP games. possibly.

Clearly Nintendo doesn't agree with your hypothesis.

Yeah, that is very likely the real reason, not the bull about keeping a safe platform and all this.

Microsoft does have the better track record when it comes to security anyway.

Xbox users can play MC with any other platform except PS4 because Sony doesn't allow it.
Xbox users can play Rocket League with PC and Switch users but not PS4 because Sony won't allow it.

So MS is clearly open to play with other consoles. Sony is not.

Indeed. Sony is being Anti-Consumer. They deserve ridicule on this.

To preserve business interests isnt political. People like you on the other hand are creating a "political issue" where there was none, including ridiculous emotional note.

Ignoring your ad-hominem, it is indeed political.  Sony are using pointless excuses to justify their reasoning.
Sony is being Anti-Consumer, you need to come to terms with that.
These are multi-billion dollar companies, they don't care about you as an individual, they care about money. - They won't send you cake and flowers for buying their products, so being "loyal" to them is stupid.
