MS wants to work with Sony to bring the "Better Together" Minecraft update to PS4

Xbox users can play MC with any other platform except PS4 because Sony doesn't allow it.
Xbox users can play Rocket League with PC and Switch users but not PS4 because Sony won't allow it.

So MS is clearly open to play with other consoles. Sony is not.
