My guess is sacrificing humanity is the cost for Bran to aid Jon in the war against the army of the dead.
Not sure it has been discussed here, but there is a theory through his green dreams it was Bran that drove Aerys mad with visions of White Walkers driving him to "Burn them all!" so essentially Bran will have knowledge that he exists in a loop similar to Hodor where he cause the events that led to all this suffering.
