The dances are actually quite good and the dancers are really talented. The drama is mostly moms getting jealous their daughter doesn't get as much attention oy solo dance as other dancers get and idk that seems pretty real to me.

That's the whole point.  I know a couple who was on Wife Swap, and strings were pulled just to get stuff started.  In fact, the director on the husband's end was replaced because Tim (my friend) was too smart and adamant to not get jerked around by the production crew.  Also, the swapped wife (don't know her name) was sorry for the antics she had pulled because  Tim's a good guy.  And they both knew that it was the production crew who were baiting the traps.
