RCR actually looks better due to a cartoonish art direction. Streets of Rage kind of went for a semi-realistic look and has aged worse. Legend of the Mystical Ninja (SNES) plays very similarly and is also a beat'em up. 

I will check out some video for it and see for myself.

It's a toss-up between Super Metriod and LttP for me. They occupy the #4 & #5 spots in my best games ever list, and are my favorite games in their respective series and the two best games of their generation. EDIT: Can you do an 8-entry poll for the final with the runners-up filling up wild card spots, or was this a single-elimination "4 battle royales → Fatal Four-way" thing only?

You are the second to suggest using the runner ups. I will consider it.

True in some cases and not in others. Metroid is not a RPG. It's an action adventure game with RPG elements. Zelda and FF are true RPGs. In that context, FF VI's content (plus better story) makes it a better game IMO.

The Legend of Dragoon, Shadow of the Colossus, Demon's Souls, Final Fantasy XII/IX, Resident Evil 4, God of War 3, any Disgaea, Digimon World 3, Persona 3/5, Pokemon Crystal, Diablo 1/2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Okami, stuff like that (apart from The Last of Us, that you added on the second thread)

There was too little room to include so many games. Perhaps next time, I will do 100 games instead of 40. I used Dark Souls to cover the whole series including Demon's Souls. I almost included a Metal Gear game. I put in 3 Final Fantasy games already. Shadow of The Colossus, Disgaea, and Okami are too Niche to have a real shot at winning. Now Legend of Dragoon is a very interesting choice. I would never think anyone would suggest that game! Is that your favorite game?
