I smoked pot for...way too long actually. Would light up nearly every night my third year of college. Stop doing it probably five years ago altogether when I got serious about searching for jobs, and decided not to risk it once I found a position I didn't want to lose. Random drug screenings are rare, but still a risk I didn't want to take.
I smoked cigarettes off and on until about three years ago, and just stopped doing it. Was never really addicted, was more like a pack a week smoker at most. While the buzz was helpful for my anxiety issues, eventually I decided I got sick of my mouth tasting like an ash tray, and that it would be better to use the money I was spending on cigarettes on more important things, like a new car, home mortgage, video games, and figurines of anime girls.
I still drink a lot...but eh. This world sucks too much to handle sober.
