- More powerful and innovative hardware - Nintendo will become more mainstream outside of Japan - MS well be more mainstream outside of US - Rare will become great again Thoughts? |
- Nope, Nintendo's innovation and Microsoft's hardware can't coincide. Nintendo Switch is already a miracle from a handheld perspective, making a console with Nintendo's innovation and Microsoft's power sensibilities would be super expensive and probably wouldn't work.
- Nintendo is just as mainstream as Xbox in most countries, they just have bad generations unlike Microsoft. The only place that might improve if they merge is Europe, but that is a Playstation dominated area.
- Rare being "great again" has nothing to do with Nintendo. The people who used to work at Rare and make great games are gone, that's why we have Sea of Thieves instead of Banjo Threeie.
Anyways I don't think this would work at all, I don't think Nintendo and Microsoft could get past their widely different approaches to hardware, but they would both see an increase in sales. It's possible with the two merging though, that Sony takes up an even bigger percentage of the market cap.
