The rest of the news (which are a lot):
Blizzard composer Russell Brower has been laid off
http://www.pcgamer.com/blizzard-composer-russell-brower-has-been-laid-off/
You may not immediately recognize Russell Brower's name, but if you've played a Blizzard game over the past decade you've almost certainly heard his music. The studio's senior audio director/composer has credits on everything from World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade to Overwatch, with StarCraft 2, Diablo 3, Hearthstone, and various expansions in between. That run has come to an end, however, as he announced on Facebook today that his job has been eliminated.
Starpoint Gemini Warlords: Titans Return teaser shows the massive ships arriving next month
http://www.pcgamer.com/starpoint-gemini-warlords-titans-return-teaser-shows-the-massive-ships-arriving-next-month/
Much has happened to Starpoint Gemini Warlords since we first (and last) looked at it in March 2016, just ahead of its launch into Early Access. It went into full release in May, for one thing, and seems to have been pretty well received overall by both fans and critics. More recently—as in, today—developer LGM Games (that's Little Green Men, by the way) released a teaser for the upcoming Titans Return DLC, which will see the arrival of the massive Titan class ships that made their debut in Starpoint Gemini 2.
Mirage: Arcane Warfare's free Gladiator update adds bots, new maps, and more

Sorry Joey, the first free content update for the online fantasy combat game Mirage: Arcane Warfare, called the Gladiator Update, does not actually add a Gladiator class to the action. But it does bring quite a bit of new content, including two new arenas, the powerful Greatsword for the Taurant class, additional magical abilities, and—this is the big one—bots.
Garrosh Hellscream is coming to Heroes of the Storm
http://www.pcgamer.com/garrosh-hellscream-is-coming-to-heroes-of-the-storm/
Heh, greetings. Blizzard has revealed that Garrosh Hellscream, son of Grommash Hellscream and former chieftain of the Warsong Clan, will be the next hero added to Heroes of the Storm. The studio said on Twitter that he'll be playable at the ChinaJoy conference next week, and it aims to have him on the HotS PTR for the week of July 31.
The Doomfist preview video suggests Overwatch weapon skins could be coming
http://www.pcgamer.com/the-doomfist-preview-video-suggests-overwatch-weapon-skins-could-be-coming/
Overwatch weapon skins are tired directly to character skins: The only way to change the look of your gun is to change your entire outfit. But some sharp-eyed Overwatchers on Reddit noticed a couple of very interesting details in the recent Doomfist hero preview video suggesting that Blizzard is working on making separate weapon skins for the game, and possibly even new weapons.
Dreamfall Chapters' Final Cut update is live now
http://www.pcgamer.com/dreamfall-chapters-final-cut-update-is-live-now/
At the start of the year we brought you the news that Dreamfall Chapters' "Final Cut" update would arrive this March—'March' being a word that here means, apparently, 'July'. OK so it's a bit late, but you can now play Red Thread Games' five-part episodic adventure with enhanced art and sound effects, improved performance, and a few other pleasant additions, and that's not bad at all for a free update, now is it?
Slime Rancher squelches out of early access in August
http://www.pcgamer.com/slime-rancher-squelches-out-of-early-access-in-august/
Slime Rancher is a game about hoovering up slimes, exploring, and farming on an alien planet, and it's proved rather popular in the year-and-a-half the sandbox title has been in Steam Early Access. Slime waits for no man, however, and so Monomi Park's open adventure finally has an actual release date, and it's very, very soon.
Nihon Falcom: "We want all of our games on Steam"
http://www.pcgamer.com/nihon-falcom-we-want-all-of-our-games-on-steam/
This page on Steam is looking increasingly healthy, as JRPG-focused developer Nihon Falcom gradually ports many of its old (and less old) games to PC, and to Steam. Trails of Cold Steel is the next up, due in just over a week, but it seems the company has plans to release many more of its titles over the coming months.
>>Great news for all of us.
Nidhogg 2 creator explains radical art style overhaul
http://www.pcgamer.com/nidhogg-2-creator-explains-radical-art-style-overhaul/
From the looks of all the footage I've seen of upcoming side-scrolling sword combat game Nidhogg 2, the mechanics will be very similar to the original. That's a good thing, because Nidhogg was one of the best games of 2014. The art style, however, will be completely different.
New Monster Hunter: World video shows gunlance in action
http://www.pcgamer.com/new-monster-hunter-world-video-shows-gunlance-in-action/
Fresh out the San Diego Comic-Con oven, there's some new footage of Monster Hunter: World. It's taken by an audience member off-screen so it looks a little grainy, but it's our first proper look at some of the weapons in action, notably the spear/rocket launcher hybrid called the Gunlance.
Terry Crews's Crackdown 3 character revealed in new video
http://www.pcgamer.com/terry-crewss-crackdown-3-character-revealed-in-new-video/
You may have read Joe's extensive interview with PC gaming fanatic (and Hollywood actor) Terry Crews last week, in which the White Chicks star spoke of his excitement at being a playable character in upcoming open world superhero game Crackdown 3. "It's more than I could ever have dreamed of," he said.
Well, over the weekend developers Sumo Digital finally fully unveiled Crews's character, called Commander Jaxon. The video, via Gamespot, is a short one: just a quick toe-to-head spin showing the character's armour, face and voice.
Dying Light to get 10 free DLC helpings in next 12 months
http://www.pcgamer.com/dying-light-to-get-10-free-dlc-helpings-in-next-12-months/
In early 2016, Techland announced plans to support its flagship horror game Dying Light into the new year. A year and half on, the Polish studio has now promised to commit to the zombie-meets-parkour 'em up with ten slices of free DLC to be launched over course of the next 12 months.
The Lighthouse is neat-looking crowdfunded horror thriller, alpha demo out now
http://www.pcgamer.com/the-lighthouse-is-neat-looking-crowdfunded-horror-thriller-alpha-demo-out-now/
Shadow Knights Studio's first foray into videogame development came courtesy of the 2013 one-time game jam project Love Monsters, which eventually found its way onto the App Store. The developer's first PC outing offers a pretty seismic shift in tone towards a "uniquely crafted thriller with glimpses into psychotic, alternate dimensions". That's called The Lighthouse and it's now peeked its head over its $10,000 Kickstarter ask with 21 days left before its campaign expires. It's also got an alpha demo, available to backers.
Please excuse my bad English.
