That said, it wouldn't surprise me if all MS has going forward are their biggest hits like Halo, Forza and Gears, no more risky new AAA IPs like Quantum Break or Sunset Overdrive. Their E3 presser also made it obvious they will accompany them with timed exclusive indies, since they can't moneyhat bigger games anymore and are unwilling to invest expanding 1st party.
And let's not kid ourselves, Phil Spencer isn't gonna rebuild 1st party, he's not the hero you thought he'd be. Dude has been in charge for 3 years and nothing changed, studios actually closed and games cancelled under him. It's not he's fault, I think he wants to do a lot more but is kept on a very tight leash by higher execs because the sales bombed, Phil doesn't have any champion at the company to give him more funds.
