@Magnus  I am going to disagree with you in a few places.

First, no Nintendo customer that I am aware of ever gets a contract stating these games are a lock for being exclusive to a Nintendo consoles. It is a expected but it isn't a guarantee and shouldn't be held as such.

Next, I am going to be that guy. Your idea of exclusives don't work with a few of your examples, Mario Kart was never on the GB or GBC, it his the GBA for its first portable outing. IF we count the GBC as a seperate system from the original GB, by your logic then the Gameboy never had a exclusive Zelda game due to Link's Awakening DX. The GC is in the same boat not only due to Twilight Princess but Wind Waker being ported to the Wii U or the various third party games that wound up on other consoles later but Nintendo's own 'New Play Control' series that ported both Metroid Prime games and the Pikmin titles to the Wii. And even back in the 90s the distance between the NA release of Super Mario 3 and Super Mario All star was only three years, never mind the alternate version they released later that included Super Mario World. The idea that Nintendo is doing something they have never done with porting games from the Wii U to Switch doesn't make sense given they do this often in their history. May not be in as short of a time period but never has never had a major system fail this badly as the Wii U.

The lack of a console exclusive Zelda game besides spinoffs does suck, but can you really name one Switch port by Nintendo besides Breath of the Wild which is just the previous game where they didn't make any changes or improvements that people wouldn't want? People who bought the Wii U got the short end of the stick but if you are Wii U owner and didn't enjoy the system, you would have probably sold it by now and may not even trust the Switch with its good fortune at this point either. The Switch offers enough in its concept (along with promise of merging Nintendo's focus to one platform in the future for both handheld and console titles) and the stellar games, ports or not, that the system is being  well received. One mistake or failure doesn't destroy a company that has been cranking out quality for as long as Nintendo has. Not counting their struggles with their devices in the 80s before striking gold with the Genesis/Mega Drive, It took multiple failed Sega add ons, the Saturn and the Dreamcast for Sega to drop out of the hardware game and even to this day not all of their fans have stopped buy their software. I can understand the frustration and anger but I think it is a waste to do so when dealing a company where profits have always been their main goal.

I agree with what you said to Magnus. I personally think that his frustration with Nintendo is understandable, but I think he's being a bit ridiculous.
