So I don't know if I'm allowed to post this? I looked for similar threads and couldn't find any. Anyhow..

This discussion is just for thought and friendly conversation. No malicious intent from me!

I was wondering what do you guys think about the Switch and Playstation 4 lineup for 2017 exclusive wise? It's a little bit unfair because the Playstation 4 is three years into it's life and a lot of it's exclusives are from third parties, but so are two of Nintendo's and I think it's an interesting question especially because this might be the first time I feel that Playstation might beat out Nintendo from an exclusives standpoint.

Switch's 2017 exclusive line up : The Legend of Zelda : Breath of the Wild, Arms, Splatoon 2, Mario + Rabbids : Kingdom Battle, Fire Emblem : Warriors, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Super Mario : Odyssey. (I didn't include Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or Pokken Tournament DX, I feel like they're way too cash grabby to stand alone, but if you want to include them you can I suppose)

Playstation 4's exclusive line up : Yakuza 0, Tales of Berseria, Gravity Rush 2, Ni-oh, Horizon : Zero Dawn, Nier : Automata, Persona 5, Crash N. Sane Trilogy, Hellblade : Sensua's Sacrifice, Uncharted : The Lost Legacy, Knack 2, and GT Sport.  (If you don't want to include Nier : Automata or Hellblade : Sensua's Sacrifice because they're also on PC, that is fine too).

So what do you guys think about the line ups?

Personally I think it's a bit hard to decide. I only have seven games from here, Breath of the Wild, Ni-oh, Horizon, Nier, Persona 5, Arms and Splatoon 2. But I think the most important thing to take away from this year is that nearly *every* game, at least to me, looks like a must have. That just proves how great of a year this is! I think Sony will probably have the best year for a majority of people. Me? Really hard to say ... might be a tie! I think Uncharted is the obvious soft spot in PS4's lineup. I never finished 4 and that's because by in large I haven't been interested in Uncharted since like 2013. I just feel like Sony is going to make this their Halo, which I think is the wrong direction for Naughty Dog. Knack 2 looks like THE game of late 2017 for Sony, i'm not even joking people, this is not a meme. That is unless Hellblade has a bad PC port. Also, Hellblade is only 30$!!!! The team said it's a bit shorter than most triple A games, so you're getting a gorgeous game for 30 new !!! I think it will be grat.

My opinions :

As far as the games I have, the only one I've gotten far in is Zelda. I love it so far! I have about 60 + hours in it! I have limited experience with the Zelda series, I started with and almost finished Windwaker(forking triforce quest), then went on to A Link Between Worlds, then Ocarina, and then almost finished Majora's Mask but didn't because I got my Switch in the mail lol . Out of that experience of having completed 2 games and nearly completing 2 others, I think Botw proves on major(as) theory about Zelda games : The Zelda games with the least amount of dungeons, or the worst dungeons, are the *BEST* Zelda games. That's kind of a backhanded completement towards BOTW, but damn, the only real dungeon I've liked so far is the Zora one, and I only have one more divine beast to go. It's so weird that the series progresses in quality (Majora's Mask, Windwaker, BOTW) when it has less dungeons or worse ones. Overall a great great game, with a few flaws.

Ni-oh is really good from the few hours I played! I honestly felt more detached with the Souls games the more they focused on combat, I feel like by DS2/DS3 From Software missed the point of the series. DS3 and Bloodborne were still good, though I never finished BB, but I still love DS1 the most. Ni-oh focuses a lot on combat, but makes up for it by adding a HUGE amount of complexities not accounted for in the Souls games. I don't like the intro to the game though. I wasted time exploring the opening only to find out all the gear you get from exploring is taken away from you after you defeat the prelude. Such a terrible part of the game, should have been taken out entirely, it was like a huge cock tease to Souls fans who were used to exploring dungeons before leaving them to find hard to get gear. It also doesn't show *any* of the unique mechanics of the game. The magic, focus, stances, and guardian systems aren't explained in the first area. After the first area, there's a tutorial, and then after that, there's also a note system in the first real area of the game that explains the mechanics to you. Wow. .. talk about pointless prison sequence.

Nier was my 2nd most hyped game of the year despite not playing the original, the demo was so awesome. But once I got past the first stage. .... ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I didn't know it would be such a JRPG, like that's not an insult, I always figured it was weird to see a Nier/Drakengard game that wasn't a JRPG, but it was bathling the cut from the Prelude level to the RPG levelling system. The open world feels beautiful but empty, and i'm really waiting for more enemy variety. Also 2b is all like "We can't have emotions (beep boop beep bop)  - it's against our code" and then she's like crying when the guys dies and then they're like well this doesn't really matter because we can just bomb ourselves and i'm like " .... lol okay" .  Didn't get far into it, hopefully it picks up.

Horizon just reallly reallly realllly bores me in the first few hours. I don't know, feels a lot like a more boring version of Rise of the Tomb Raider, but I'll definitely finish it eventually.

Persona 5. Wow. Really impressing me! Kind of my first JRPG aside from playing a few hours of FF and XB, but it's sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo gooooooooooooooooood. Just the whole concept of the game is sooo perfect. So far the best game of 2017 imo.

(really nervous this is gonna get locked for some reason or im going to be banned)

You miss Splatoon 2 and Arms ,Monster Hunter XX?

And 1-2 Switch ?
